Heath Milligan walked out of the Waikato Management School with a Bachelor of Management Studies (Hons) and flew straight to a job in the United States.

Via a telephone interview he secured a trainee position with a San Francisco IT company, 37 degrees Inc. He says that his BMS degree and involvement with AIESEC [www.aiesec.org.nz, aiesec@waikato.ac.nz] while studying at Waikato were the main factors that got him there.

He chose Waikato’s Management degree because it seemed to offer more than commerce or business degrees at other universities. “It was four years and broad-based. My 599 which I did for Trade New Zealand was fantastic. I’m really glad I chose Waikato.”

Heath is now a Product Manager at Endace [www.endace.com] - a global leader in computer network security, intelligence and analysis. Endace is growing and hiring fast. It has more than 80 staff in offices in New Zealand, Singapore, the USA and the UK. It was the first New Zealand company to list on the London Stock Exchange’s Alternative Investment Market (LSE/AIM) and has won a number of awards.

Last year Heath was a finalist for the Nautech Electronics NZ Hi-Tech Young Achiever award at the 2006 PricewaterhouseCoopers New Zealand Hi-Tech Awards.
