John Buchanan obtained his PhD from the University of Canterbury in the area of
decision making with multiple objectives. Prior to joining the staff of the university he
spent three years as a Senior Consultant with Price Waterhouse Management Consultants
where he was involved in a number of projects primarily in the areas of management science
and financial modelling. Research
