Description

Professor Kerr Inkson is an Adjunct Professor. He has a background in organizational psychology, organizational behavior and management studies. His PhD is from the University of Otago. He has had an academic career in the UK and New Zealand spanning over 40 years, and  has been a Professor of Management sine 1988 at five NZ Universities. He has published over 60 refereed journal articles, over 30 book chapters, and 15 books. His latest books are Understanding Careers; The Metaphors of Working Lives (Sage Publications, 2007), and Working on the Edge: A Portrait of Business in Dunedin (co-edited with Victoria Browning and Jodyanne Kirkwood, Otago University Press, 2007; and Cultural Intelligence: Living and Working Globally (with David C Thomas, Berrett-Kohler, second edition, 2009). In recent years Kerr's research has focused on careers, including international careers, and he is a contributor to key professional and academic forums in that area, including being Chair of the Careers Division, Academy of Management, 2005-6. In 2003 and 2006 he was Chair of the Tertiary Education Commission's PBRF panel for Business and Economics. He is a Fellow of the NZ Psychological Society and the NZ Institute of Management, and a Distinguished Member of the Australian and NZ Academy of Management.
